A contemporary Czech film composer with international experience.

Karel Havlíček (born 31 July 1974 in Prague) is a Czech composer, pianist, multi-instrumentalist and sound designer. His work centres on original music for feature films, television drama, documentaries and trailers.

His musical language brings together contemporary orchestral writing, intimate piano, electronics and a detailed understanding of sound. He works between Prague and Los Angeles, with his Prague recording studios, Kabelovna Studios, serving as his principal creative base.

Havlíček received a 2024 Czech Lion nomination for Best Music for the feature film Brothers. At the 2026 OSA Awards, he was named among the three most successful popular-music authors abroad. His credits include HBO Europe series In Treatment and Mamon, the films They Call Me Lars (Říkají mi Lars, 2026), Lion Ark, Ghoul, Carpe Noctem and Silent Secrets, and trailer music for HBO’s The Penguin and Prime Video’s ELLE.
