Karel Havlíček je český skladatel filmové a televizní hudby, pianista a multiinstrumentalista s profesním zázemím v Praze a Los Angeles. Jeho tvorba spojuje melodickou citlivost, orchestrální rozměr a současnou elektroniku. Od subtilních klavírních motivů po napjaté filmové plochy vytváří hudbu, která dává příběhům vlastní hlas.

Výraznou součástí jeho kariéry je práce pro americký film. Složil původní hudbu k celovečernímu dokumentu Lion Ark, který získal řadu mezinárodních festivalových ocenění včetně divácké ceny za nejlepší dokument na San Diego Film Festival. Je také autorem hudby k americkému thrilleru Carpe Noctem, uvedenému pod názvem Seize the Night. Zkušenost z Los Angeles se promítá do jeho dlouhodobé spolupráce s mezinárodními tvůrčími týmy.

Pro HBO komponoval hudbu k seriálům Terapie a Mamon. Jeho práce pro americké televizní kampaně zahrnuje trailerovou hudbu k seriálu HBO The Penguin a k seriálu ELLE platformy Prime Video. V české kinematografii stojí za původní hudbou k filmům Bratři, Němá tajemství, Ghoul a Říkají mi Lars. Za Bratry získal v roce 2024 nominaci na Českého lva za nejlepší hudbu. V roce 2026 jej OSA zařadila mezi tři nejúspěšnější autory populární hudby v zahraničí.

Stejně osobní prostor jako film mu poskytuje vlastní autorská tvorba. Na albu Spoken a dvojalbu It’s Never Late to See the Light rozvíjí dialog klavíru, orchestru a elektroniky. Jeho diskografii doplňují singly Alive, Daylight, Into the Sky I Go a Return of the Sun i koncertní album Spoken Live.

Tento hudební svět přenáší také na pódium — od sólových a komorních vystoupení po koncerty s orchestrem. Je členem PETROF Art Family a jeho hlavním tvůrčím zázemím jsou pražská Kabelovna Studios. Filmová zkušenost a osobní hudební výpověď se v jeho práci přirozeně prolínají.

Karel Havlíček is a Czech film and television composer, pianist and multi-instrumentalist with professional roots in Prague and Los Angeles. American film is a significant part of his career. He composed the original score for Lion Ark, an American feature documentary that received multiple international festival awards, including the Audience Choice Award for Best Documentary at the San Diego Film Festival. His US credits also include the thriller Carpe Noctem, released as Seize the Night. His experience in Los Angeles continues to inform his work with international creative teams.

For HBO, he composed music for Terapie and Mamon. His work on US television campaigns includes trailer music for HBO’s The Penguin and Prime Video’s ELLE. His Czech feature film scores include The Brothers, Silent Secrets, Ghoul and Říkají mi Lars. The Brothers earned him a Czech Lion nomination for Best Music in 2024. In 2026, OSA named him among the three most successful Czech popular-music authors abroad.

Alongside his screen work, Havlíček pursues a personal musical vision through his own releases. His album Spoken and double album It’s Never Late to See the Light explore the dialogue between piano, orchestra and electronics. His discography also includes the singles Alive, Daylight, Into the Sky I Go and Return of the Sun, alongside the concert album Spoken Live.

He brings this musical world to the stage through solo piano performances, chamber arrangements and orchestral concerts. A member of the PETROF Art Family, he works primarily from Prague’s Kabelovna Studios. Across film, recordings and live performance, cinematic storytelling and personal expression remain closely connected.
